Pork Dumplings

Dumplings are surprisingly easy to make and these ones are extra special as they are crispy on the bottom and then steamed. I make these to use up leftover spring onions or coriander. If you don’t want to make all of the dumplings keep the pork mixture and you can use it to make this Vietnamese meatball soup.


  • 250 g pork mince
  • 3 spring onions thinly sliced
  • handful coriander chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 packet wonton wrappers ( I use these ones)
  • 2 tablespoons of oil

To serve

  • soy sauce



  1. In a bowl combine the pork mince, spring onion, coriander, garlic, ginger, chilli and oyster sauce
  2. Place a tablespoon of mixture on each wonton wrapper
  3. wet the edge of the wrapper
  4. In a large pan heat 2 tablespoons of oil
  5. Place wontons on the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is crispy and bubbly
  6. Add half a cup of water to the pan and put on the lid
  7. Steam for a further 5-6 until pork is cooked through
  8. Serve hot with soy sauce
