Quinoa , chia and oat porridge

Winter is officially upon us and so porridge is making a reappearance as a breakfast in an attempt to keep me warm. This is a bit of a different porridge but will definitely fill you up until lunch. This makes quite a bit for one so I prefer to share it with another person

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup quinoa
  • 2 tablespoons chia seed
  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 cup of milk
  • squirt of honey
  • mixed berries to serve

Method

  1. In a microwave proof bowl add the quinoa and 1/2 cup of water
  2. Cook on high for 8 minutes until half of the water is absorbed then let it sit for another 5 minutes
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the cooked quinoa, oats, chia seeds, 1 cup of milk and honey
  4. Stir the mixture until most of the liquid is absorbed
  5. Serve with mixed berries
